Evaluation Process

Company Internal Application Process

  • You can apply as teams consisting of at least two people, with individual projects, and represent the company you work for.
  • It is expected that you submit your applications to your companies within the conditions and dates determined and announced by your companies. The initial evaluation of the projects will be conducted by your companies.
  • If you want to be a part of Golden Collar in its 15th year; you can learn the application conditions, evaluation criteria, and final application date from the Human Resources Team responsible for the Golden Collar process in your company.

Company Internal Assessment Process

  • Companies evaluate the applications made to them using the methods they have determined and select 2 candidate projects from the respective company to compete in each category.
  • It is critical that the projects have been carried out within the last 12-18 months.
  • For each category, the 2 applications determined by your company are uploaded to the Golden Collar Awards website in the format specified for the Sabancı Golden Collar Awards no later than July 19.

First Stage: Determination of Semi-Finalists

  • A scoring jury, consisting of 5 individuals per company, one in each category, and a team of 65 category presidents and members across the community, as well as 30 independent consultants, is responsible for evaluation, ensuring diversity principles in companies.
  • Each category, determined by company evaluation, has 26 projects scored by the scoring jury.
  • Jury members see only applications in their own categories; no one other than the scoring jury is allowed to score the projects. (Each jury member sees a maximum of 26 projects.)
  • Jury members score each application using an evaluation form specific to that application (without comparison) for each category.
  • During evaluation, the Project Introduction Document is reviewed, followed by watching the project video simultaneously/afterwards.
  • Jury members give a score of 1 to 10 for each criterion on the evaluation form (a total of 4 criteria).
  • The scores of each project are calculated as the arithmetic mean of the jury members in its category.
  • Projects scoring between 6.95 and 7.00 are included in the semi-final as they fall within the measurement deviation range.
  • Each application must receive scores from at least 6 Sabancı Jury Members and 3 Independent Jurors. Applications may also be evaluated by more jurors.
  • Jury evaluation scores are statistically reviewed by the Golden Collar organization team and independent consultants at every stage of the process. To prevent any differences affecting the evaluation, the process is continuously monitored in the background according to the principle of equality.

Second Stage: Determination of Finalists

  • Ensuring diversity principles in companies; responsible for the evaluation of online voting jury consisting of 50 people per company, 10 people in each category and a community-wide team of 650 people. Category members do not take part in the evaluation process.
  • Each category with a score of 7 points or higher from the scoring jury will be voted on by a maximum of 26 projects.

Third Stage: Determination of Winners

  • Following the Second Stage, projects that qualify for awards from among the total 15 projects in the final of 5 categories are determined by a final jury of 95 members consisting of 5 individuals per company, 65 category presidents and members from the community, and 30 independent consultants. These projects will be evaluated based on the scores they will use before the Golden Collar Awards Ceremony.
  • Final evaluation is conducted by scoring on a scale of 10 based on the evaluation form and criteria from the first stage. The average scores of all jury members who evaluate the project are taken into account.
  • In the final evaluation, unlike the first stage evaluation, jurors are asked to sequentially watch and calibrate their notes comparing the top 3 projects.
  • A jury member cannot vote in the category/categories where their company has reached the final.
  • The company with the highest score in the evaluation wins the award in the respective category.
  • If multiple companies receive the highest equal score, both companies are awarded.
  • The award is given to the winning employee/company and a donation is made to an organization designated by the Human Resources and Sustainability Group Presidency on behalf of the winner.
